In the Retake cinematic it is shown on Phoenix's left shoe a tally mark totaling "5". Phoenix wears a variety of jewelry including a pair of "V" ear studs paired with golden earrings as seen in the Duelist and Retake cinematics as well as a gold ring also imprinted with the crown motif. The jacket also features his curveball icon over a stylized "V", while his shirt depicts a winged logo reminiscent of a phoenix rising from ashes. Phoenix's jacket and shoes both have a crown emblazoned in orange with letters "PHX" under the crown on his jacket. According to the dossier, this has been true ever since he was a child, ignoring the protective actions of his parents/guardians. Phoenix is defined by this quality of his, his ever-present and undying urge to act, even if it usually ends him up in a problematic situation (the various cinematics are a clear example of that). This nature has been commented on by many of Phoenix's fellow agents, with them speaking of how his 'heroics' and his lack of patience, and how it often leads to jeopardizing of the team's performance. Phoenix's dossier focuses on one of his foremost character traits, namely, his incredibly reckless nature. The blackmailer released a dossier about Phoenix in Patch 4.07: Earlier, VALORANT's Creative Director, David Nottingham (aka Riot KingKut) hinted that Phoenix "probably burned down the science lab in school", but it is unclear if this is the canon reason behind the event. The Firestarter card is also thought to show this event. The First Spark When most people think of Phoenix, they think of a hyper-aggressive Duelist/Initiator whose sole purpose is to clear sites with style and a bit of ego. Later, he attended a Performing Arts school in Peckham as well, which he is implied to have burned to the ground at some point (whether this was intentional or not remains unclear). This is the story of Phoenix, VALORANT’s original Duelist. Phoenix was a theater kid who grew up in South London, specifically in or around the district of Peckham. This often results in him making risky, rash, and reckless decisions, which have on multiple times caused a mission to go haywire (for example, one may consider the DUELISTS and DUALITY cinematics). Phoenix's powers and abilities mirror his personality, being a happy-go-lucky and cheerful person, brimming with confidence and cockiness. It is unclear whether his 'flames' are actually fire (which would imply burning, and in turn, something that is being consumed as a fuel), or just a representation of incredible heat. Being able to set himself on fire at will, Phoenix is also able to manipulate his flames to a degree to form 'constructs' which can affect the environment, such as walls or barriers of flame. Phoenix's abilities are centered around fire. Although the ninth to join the protocol, his confidence would make one believe otherwise. A UK radiant of fire whose pride comes with ease, Phoenix throws himself into the fray turning the battlefield into his personal playground.
